Pre-K Playgroup NOW forming in Osceola County, ages 3, 4, and 5. Please contact us for details. Children of all ability levels will be considered for preschool playgroup. Our goal is to bring families of young children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders together to socialize and play at local homes and parks with the support and assistance of a licensed speech-language pathologist. Social Skills Learning Groups ages 7-13 Florida Pediatric Therapy is offering social skills programs for children Ages 7-13 in various locations in Orange and Osceola Counties during the 2008-2009 school year. Please contact us if you have a great location we can use in your area or would like a customized group! See below for specific details about each group's age range and themes. Summer Camp 2009 ages 4 and up Camp program includes highly structured play and "camp" style activities, crafts, and games combined with specific direct instruction in skills. 4 year olds must have had school experience to be eligible.

Topics may include: Joining In, Starting a Conversation, Ending a Conversation, Reading Feelings of Others, Reading Body Language, Offering Help, Dealing with Anger. Children will work in small groups with other children in their age range. Groups are led by a licensed, certified, and experienced speech-language pathologist. Groups may include discussion, direct instruction, activities, videos, individual feedback, and homework. Group topics will be reflective of the needs of the children in the group and take into consideration the combined needs of the group. To benefit from these groups the child must be able to speak in meaningful sentences, listen to a teacher for 10-15 minutes in a row of direct instruction, have intelligence in the low average range or higher, and be able to participate in a group activity. To protect our students and staff, aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.
